Afterschool Nanny Needed – Edgebrook, Chicago
A kind and welcoming family in the Edgebrook neighborhood is seeking a reliable, compassionate afterschool nanny for their two bright and funny children, ages 10 and 13. Care is needed Monday–Thursday from 2:45–6:45 PM , starting ASAP , and continuing through the school year until early June 2026.
Responsibilities include:
School pickup (less than 10 minutes away) family has a vehicle you can use
Afternoon routine including snack, homework help, playtime, and dinner
Driving the children to occasional afterschool activities
Heating and serving prepared meals (due to severe food allergies in the home – no cooking required)
Offering fun and engaging interaction, especially with the 10-year-old who enjoys playtime after school
The family lives in a safe, walkable neighborhood and also has a friendly cat in the home. The ideal nanny will be emotionally attuned, patient, and comfortable managing food allergies with care.
Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Prior experience working with school-age children
Ability to communicate openly and kindly with both children and parents
Comfortable working around food allergies and following specific safety protocols
Compensation & Perks:
