Shift: Day | 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM
Pay Rate: $21/hr
Float: Must float to all Medical-Surgical units
The Patient Care Associate (PCA) provides direct patient care and clinical support under the supervision of registered nurses in an inpatient setting, ensuring safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, positioning, and patient comfort
Monitor, perform, and document vital signs, intake/output, and pain levels
Perform basic clinical tasks (specimen collection, venipuncture, EKGs, compression devices, post-mortem care)
Support meal delivery, nutrition monitoring, and dietary communication
Provide patient observation for safety, including fall and behavioral monitoring
Maintain isolation precautions and infection control practices
Assist with patient transport, bedmaking, unit organization, and equipment care
Answer call lights, communicate patient needs, and support unit documentation
High School Diploma or equivalent
BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
Effective English communication skills
3–9 months of healthcare or patient care experience
PCA or similar training/orientation
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility, physical stamina, and patient-centered approach
