Materials Manager | Hudsonville, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Hudsonville seeking Materials Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and ensure material availability for production.
• Oversee procurement activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and material purchasing.
• Coordinate with production planning to ensure material flow aligns with manufacturing schedules and requirements.
• Manage warehousing operations and logistics for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material costs, inventory turns, and supplier performance.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to forecast material needs, track inventory, and manage material master data.
• Lead and develop the materials team, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in materials management or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in inventory control, demand planning, production scheduling, and warehouse operations.
• Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced data analysis skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Bonus Qualifications

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with global supply chain management and international logistics.
• Proficiency in advanced data analytics or business intelligence tools for forecasting and optimization.
• Demonstrated experience leading ERP/MRP system implementations or major upgrades.
