Job Overview
The Washington County Health Department is seeking an Environmental Health Practitioner. This individual will address the health of the citizens of Washington County by focusing on environmental threats to human health.

This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently, and the ability to manage activities across multiple programs.

Responsibilities

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Inspection and regulation of food service facilities, private sewage disposal systems, and private water sources
• Vector control and surveillance
• Community education regarding public health and the environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 30 semester hours of physical and/or biological sciences, required
• Ability to work independently, managing activities across multiple programs
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Strong professional communication skills
• Public health experience, preferred but not required
• Active Environmental Health Practitioner licensure, preferred but not required

Pay: $43,500.00 - $50,000.00 per year
