Position Overview:

We are seeking compassionate, tech-savvy Registered Dental Hygienists (RDHs) to join our growing teledentistry team. As a Remote RDH, you will coordinate with state-licensed dentists and provide routine, pre-operative, post-operative, preventive, and basic dental care to patients via both synchronous (real-time video/phone) and asynchronous (store-and-forward) telehealth approaches. You will also play a key role in interprofessional collaboration, referring patients to specialty physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as needed. This is a flexible, 100% work-from-home position with comprehensive malpractice and professional coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care & Clinical Services:
    • Conduct virtual dental hygiene assessments, collect medical and dental histories, and obtain intraoral images and radiographs as needed.
    • Provide preventive dental care, including oral hygiene instruction, dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealant applications, in accordance with state regulations.
    • Deliver pre-operative and post-operative care instructions and support to patients.
    • Utilize both synchronous (live video/phone) and asynchronous (store-and-forward) teledentistry platforms to deliver care and communicate with patients.
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic health records (EHRs) for all patient interactions.
  • Collaboration & Referral:
    • Coordinate closely with state-licensed dentists for diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
    • Engage in interprofessional relationships with specialty physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
    • Refer patients to appropriate medical or dental specialists based on symptoms and clinical findings.
  • Compliance & Best Practices:
    • Adhere to all state-specific teledentistry regulations, licensure requirements, and scope of practice guidelines.
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all relevant privacy and security standards for telehealth.
    • Participate in required telehealth and technology training, and stay current with public health, insurance, and state-specific compliance policies.
  • Technology & Remote Work:
    • Use HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms, intraoral cameras, and EHR systems for patient care and documentation.
    • Maintain a secure, private, and professional remote work environment with reliable high-speed internet and necessary hardware/software.
    • Assist patients in using telehealth technologies and troubleshoot connectivity issues as needed.


Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Active, unrestricted RDH license in at least one U.S. state; willingness and eligibility to obtain additional state licenses as required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of clinical dental hygiene experience.
  • Experience with telehealth platforms and EHR systems, or willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort with both synchronous and asynchronous telehealth approaches.
  • Ability to manage a minimum monthly patient volume of 200 patients.
  • Commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care and collaborative practice.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a remote, multidisciplinary team.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-state licensure or eligibility for expedited licensure where applicable.
  • Prior experience in teledentistry or telehealth settings.
  • Experience collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
  • Familiarity with insurance and public health guidelines.
