Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) provides skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires strong scrub and circulate skills, experience in Level 1 Trauma settings, and the ability to float within the facility as needed. The RN will work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the operating room.
- Function as both a scrub and circulating nurse.
- Perform patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Administer medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the OR.
- Document patient care accurately and completely in Cerner.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in the OR.
- Level 1 Trauma experience.
- Strong scrub and circulate skills.
- Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience in Neurosurgery (crani and spine).
- Experience in Open Heart/Thoracic procedures.
- Experience in Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology surgeries.

Special Considerations:

- Mandatory float facility; all resources are required to float at the facility's discretion.
- Call requirement: One 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7A-7P or 7P-7A).
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility.

Scheduling:
- 5x8s, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
- Every other weekend / 2 weekends per month.
- No block scheduling.
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
- RTO: 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive. No holiday RTO. No RTO the day prior or after a holiday. No RTO on weekends.
