The Program Manager Position
SunStrong Management is an independent, full-service asset management and servicing company for the renewable energy industry is seeking a Program Manager to lead and coordinate strategic initiatives that enhance the organization’s performance, efficiency, and scalability. This role is responsible for managing both individual projects and broader programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, optimizing resources, and successfully executing cross-functional initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in project management practices and demonstrate the ability to manage complex, multi-project programs that drive business transformation.
Program Manager Responsibilities - Lead the end-to-end delivery of key initiatives—ranging from targeted projects to broader, multi-workstream programs—ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities, define scope, and implement new or enhanced solutions.
- Develop and manage integrated schedules, milestones, resource plans, and budgets to ensure successful execution across initiatives.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issues, developing mitigation plans and driving resolution in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Monitor progress across initiatives, tracking performance metrics and providing regular status updates and insights to leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
- Apply agile delivery methodologies to manage projects where appropriate, facilitating sprints, stand-ups, and iterative planning.
- Ensure timely and effective communication across teams, promoting transparency, accountability, and alignment throughout each phase of the delivery process.
- Utilize standard project management vocabulary and practices aligned with the Project Management Institute (PMI) standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in project/program execution by incorporating feedback, lessons learned, and best practices into future work.
- Support organizational change by facilitating the adoption of new processes, tools, and systems as part of initiative rollouts.
- Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or another related field
- 2+ years’ experience in Operations Management, Program Management, or Project Management
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in solar energy or retail energy
- PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP (Program Management Professional), or equivalent PMI certification
- Master’s degree
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Experience in Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, Excel, Tableau, VBA, Microsoft Planner, and SQL
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Agile principles and methodologies
- Ability to assess metric outcomes on a relative basis and create sound recommendations based on accurate data evaluation.
- Ability to thoughtfully exercise judgment to improve processes and advance the reporting outputs for the team.
- Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn and adapt to change
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Excellent judgment, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
