Job Description: Pharmacist
Medication Preparation & Dispensing:
Accurately prepare and dispense medications, including prescription entry, filling, labeling, and final packaging.
Review completed prescriptions and cycle-fill orders to confirm accuracy and adherence to provider instructions.
Clinical & Legal Verification:
Assess prescriptions for safety and compliance, considering patient allergies, drug interactions, refill limits, and therapeutic appropriateness.
Interpret and evaluate prescription orders using professional judgment to ensure patient safety and compliance with legal standards.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance:
Maintain full compliance with all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
Follow established guidelines and best practices for sterile and non-sterile compounding.
Document and report medication errors or discrepancies according to policy.
Patient & Provider Support:
Serve as a resource for patients, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals by addressing medication-related questions.
Transfer prescriptions to external pharmacies when requested.
Inventory & Supply Management:
Monitor inventory levels and reorder medications when stock falls below required thresholds.
Research and select cost-effective alternatives for exception items.
Communicate with customers or facilities regarding back-ordered or unavailable products and expected fulfillment timelines.
Replenish workstation supplies such as vials, labels, cassettes, and delivery materials.
Team Leadership:
Provide oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians, offering performance feedback to supervisory staff as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD. required
State Pharmacist License required without restrictions
At least 1+ years of related experience
Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred/required
Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
Great attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
Medical consulting experience preferred

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $64.00 - $70.00/hr.
