**Company :** Allegheny Health Network **Job Description :** **GENERAL OVERVIEW:** Handles all mechanical repairs throughout the hospital, including electrical and plumbing. **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Performs equipment and materials fabrication including miscellaneous installations and repairs (including repairs to wheelchairs and beds); updates and repairs hospital plumbing systems, electrical repairs, light carpentry and other trades. (65%) + Responds to service and emergency calls regarding any maintenance repair, electrical or plumbing problem. (25%) + Maintains locks and keys and door related apparatus. (5%) + Must demonstrate personal accountability for knowledge and application of DOH, Joint Commission and ICRA requirements. (5%) **QUALIFICATIONS:** Minimum + High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Must have a basic working knowledge of a wide range of mechanical equipment. Preferred + Stationary Engineering training as well as training in plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical. + Certification in Proper Refrigeration Practices Type I and Type II. + Prior mechanical experience including burning and welding. + Prior Healthcare Experience. **_Disclaimer:_** _The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
