HR Generalist | Cadillac, MI

Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Cadillac that are seeking skilled HR Generalists. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for manufacturing positions, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding production staff.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, company policies, and safety regulations specific to the manufacturing plant.
  • Administer HR programs such as benefits, payroll support, and leave management for all plant employees.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and ongoing training programs, emphasizing safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Support plant leadership in developing and implementing HR strategies to improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including OSHA compliance.
  • Proven ability in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management for an hourly workforce.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for production and skilled trades roles.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and payroll administration.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish)
  • Experience with unionized environments or labor relations
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety program support
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies
