Job Description

The Associate Creative Director, Copy works with the Executive Creative Director to develop creative campaigns, provide oversight, and manage projects with assigned teams. They will also work with copywriters and graphic designers to formulate concepts and execute designs for a variety of visual communications and channels, including but not limited to print, digital, video, and environmental. Experience writing for a pharmaceutical brand is required.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Develop concepts and collaborate with art directors, science specialists, and account teams to produce campaign and project ideas for various clients.
• Understand clients’ businesses, targets, and how CG Life can elevate their success.
• Embrace competitive environments, copy design, and trends to create original ideas.
• Present and articulate creative copy—whether their own work or a team member’s—in a way that is grounded in strategy.
• Monitor and follow through on all assigned copy projects.
• Deliver impactful presentations to both internal and external audiences.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of brand goals, positioning, markets, and competitors.
• Develop thoughtful and clear rationales for creative work and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
• Manage timelines in conjunction with production personnel and ensure team deliverables are completed and presented on time.
• Stay current on industry trends and technology.
• Supervise the work of others, typically 1–2 employees at the copy supervisor or senior copywriter level or below.
• Demonstrate keen attention to detail and timely follow-through.
• Show passion for clients’ businesses and creative output.
• Consistently deliver high-quality work on time.
• Apply understanding of brand goals, positioning, and market conditions to all assignments.
• Incorporate ideas and revisions in response to feedback from supervisors, account teams, and clients.
• Collaborate with creative leads, account teams, and project management to deliver high-level work.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience writing for a pharmaceutical brand at a marketing or advertising agency.
• Ability to execute copy skillfully across multiple channels, including print, video, and digital (websites, online banners, social media, etc.).
• Strong conceptual skills, demonstrated through a portfolio of work.
• Ability to dive into complex science and technologies, identify key ideas, and communicate them effectively to target audiences.
• Understanding of agency processes and creative collaboration.
• Proven ability to present and sell ideas to internal teams and clients.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Expertise in pharmaceutical copy requirements, including claims, references, research, and compliance with FDA and client medical/legal review standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat tools.

As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $100-$115/hr and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At CG Life, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the plan.
