While this position is based at Idaho Power's downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote. What does a Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst do for us? They are responsible for providing business unit finance support. They coordinate, facilitate, plan, and advise internal customers in creating budgets and variance analysis as well as perform other specialized financial, accounting, and planning activities and analysis. They act as a consultant on financial policy and procedure, and their application. They prepare and present financial analysis including conclusions and recommendations to management. This role requires knowledge of financial and accounting theory, principles, and practices. Knowledge of regulatory recovery methods and utility ratemaking practices is preferred. A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE Knowledge of: - Financial theory (such as time value of money, discounted cash flows, capital structure and the development of weighted average cost of capital), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) accounting
- The Company's revenue requirement and cost recovery mechanisms and applies those concepts in modeling
Skills in: - Effective oral and written communication, proper grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and query tools
Ability to: - Interpret and apply corporate financial policy and accounting theory

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Financial Analyst Education: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred: - Additional college classes in finance and/or accounting above the bachelor's degree requirements or advanced degree in related field
Experience: - 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance
Preferred: Licenses & Certifications: Preferred: - Professional certification such as CFA, CMA, or CPA
Senior Financial Analyst Education: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred: - Additional college classes in finance and/or accounting above the bachelor's degree requirements or advanced degree in related field
Experience: - 5 or more years of professional experience in finance or accounting
Preferred: Licenses & Certifications: Preferred: - Professional certification such as CFA, CMA, or CPA
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position is a sedentary job requiring working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. Ergonomic accommodations including sit to stand desks are available and installed as needed.
