Job Overview:
The Cardiac Cath Aide/Assistant functions under the direction of the department Director and Manager. The Cardiac Cath Aide/Assistant supports the department leadership, Registered Nurse (RN), and technician population of the Cardiac Cath Lab.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Minimum of one (1) year hospital experience required.
Knowledge of medical terminology required
Preferred:
Knowledge of Patient Transport or Sterile Processing strongly preferred.
Essential Functions:
Primary responsibilities involve supportive and technical assistance associated with the overall course of diagnostic and interventional procedures
Preparing rooms and items for procedures
Assisting with transportation of patients within the department
Monitoring inventory
Stocking procedural areas and rooms.
Works closely with Central Sterile, Laboratory, Patient Transport, and Pharmacy departments to support hospital resources and patient care as appropriate.
