Qualifications

The Buyer manages purchase orders contracts RFQs RFPs and is key in maintaining supplier relations. Sources materials for Finished Goods and Spares Inventory Engineering MRO and Distribution needs as assigned. Maintains supplier files procurement procedures and contributes to policy development within the company. Responsible for understanding the procurement process and how it relates to all aspects of the business.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

• Manages purchase orders per delivery requirements established by the Planning team. Maintains purchase orders to ensure accuracy of price quantity and delivery.
• Manages supplier contracts RFQs to meet required terms and conditions.
• Develop and maintain all supplier files including quotes pricing and communications.
• Evaluates and manages supplier performance to ensure on time deliveries and adherence to quality specifications.
• Completes ad-hoc analysis and reporting as it relates to the Procurement team.
• Monitors and facilitates improvements in material cost reduction quality and delivery.
• Sourcing materials for finished goods spares inventory engineering MRO and distribution needs.
• Collaborates with Engineering Planning Global Sales Ops and other departments as needed to ensure the needs of the customer are met.

Specific Job Requirements

• This position requires 2 days on-site at the Lancaster Texas Distribution Center and 3 days remote . This is a hybrid role and requires close proximity to the Lancaster Texas location.
• Demonstration and understanding of standard concepts and practices in procurement.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings procedure manuals and technical specifications. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to implement opportunities. Utilization of Excel or similar tools for ad-hoc and repeatable data analysis. Converting analysis into condensed reporting for review with a broader audience.
• Familiarity with utilizing Excel functions including pivot tables Xlookup IF statements SumIFs and Power Query.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Experience in procurement aspects of an integrated ERP/MRP environment preferably with a Tier one provider (Oracle SAP etc) preferred (Not Required).
• Experience in Purchasing and Supplier Management preferred (Not Required).
• Intermediate to Expert knowledge of MS Office suite to include Excel Word Outlook.
• STEM Bachelors degree preferred or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Local candidates preferred but will accept candidates inPacific Standard Time Zone and Mountain Standard Time Zone
