ASSOCIATE and full Professor of Pediatrics Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Neonatology and Newborn Services in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for both Associate and Full Professor positions in the academic-clinician, clinician-educator, non-tenure research and tenure tracks. Applicants must have a MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree. For research track positions, applicants must have a PhD or MD/PhD degree. All applicants must demonstrate excellent qualifications in education, clinical care or research. Applicants must be board certified/eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics or in Internal Medicine for tenure and research tracks. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Academic Clinician Track - Clinical responsibilities may include providing outstanding clinical care and productivity in program development as well as consultations for high-risk neonatology and maternal-fetal conditions including pre-natal genetic diagnosis. Clinical care will be provided in the 100 bed Level IV Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit and the 10-bed Infant Transitional Unit at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the 40 bed Level III Intensive Care Nursery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Duties may also include providing outpatient and inpatient consultative services. Teaching responsibilities include clinical education of medical students, residents and fellows as well as formal lecture opportunities within the Division and Department.

Clinician-Educator Track - Clinical responsibilities include providing outstanding clinical care and productivity in program development. Research Track - Research or scholarship responsibilities may include having a national reputation for collaborative or independent research of high quality with distinctive, original, and expert intellectual contributions. Mentorship of graduate students or postdoctoral fellows, while not required, should be of high quality. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated record of excellence in basic laboratory research with a publication record in neonatology, developmental, or molecular medicine. For full professor rank, candidates must show evidence of an international reputation for their scientific accomplishments. Teaching includes education of postdocs and fellows as well as formal lecture opportunities withing the Department and Division. Tenure Track - Research or scholarship responsibilities may include independent research, grant support with a series of peer-reviewed research articles in respected neonatology, developmental or molecular medicine journals, a body of work that demonstrates intellectual independence, supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators, participation in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts. Teaching responsibilities may include medical students, trainees, residents, postdocs and fellows, as well as formal lecture opportunities within the department.
