We are seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to support operations in a high-acuity Level III+ NICU at a Southern California acute care hospital. This afternoon leadership role (12:00 pm – 8:30 pm) ensures safe, high-quality neonatal care while mentoring staff and optimizing workflows.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily NICU operations, staffing, and resource utilization
Mentor and develop nursing staff; foster team engagement
Support evidence-based practices, compliance, and regulatory readiness
Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure patient- and family-centered care
Manage staffing, performance tracking, and escalated care concerns
Qualifications:
BSN or MSN; Active CA RN license
BLS & NRP certification (RNC-NIC required within 6 months)
2+ years RN experience in a Level III+ NICU
1+ year leadership (Charge RN, Supervisor, ANM, etc.)
Acute care hospital experience
Preferred:
Experience with union staff
Strong communication and leadership skills
